Pinch pot project, students make three or more objects that relate to one another
Students make a pinch pot, cut it into 5 or more pieces, then reconstruct it into something sculptural, vessel-like, or something different
Students make two pinch pots, connect them together to make a hollow form, then the student transforms the object into something found in the natural world (animal, rock form, fruit/vegetable, etc.)
Students make three or more pinched parts and then assemble them into a sculptural or vessel based object
Students make a soft plastic slab and wrap it around a form to create a large vessel, decoration is left to the students creativity
Students use the coil building technique to make an object that gets both wider and narrower in its form, a blog assignment is associated with this project for inspiration
Students throw cups on the potters wheel and then make handles to create at least 6 pieces that relate to each other
Students throw lidded jars on the potters wheel, this is a front/back view of the object
Students bring in an object and make a two part plaster mold, then make multiples of the object in clay and create a composition with the multiples
This student was accepted into the Chaffey College Student invitational, I mentored him to create pieces for a series of work culminating in a show at the end of the semester
